You hear people rip on WalMart, but it's not because of shopping it's because of their policies and standards. They treat the employees like cr*p and pay them cr*p. Or they're so brainwashed by them they have no idea how much they're being used and abused. I can say this first hand ... my mom used to work there. They are bullies to manufacturers and have really infuriated unions because of they're refusal to pay their grocery employees what their worth.

You should read this book Matt ...

"How Wal-Mart is Destroying America and The World and What You Can Do About It" by Bill Quinn

Everyone should read it really .. it's very interesting. I shop at WalMart, but only rarely because I don't believe in the way they treat people and they are ruining this country. I'd rather pay a few cents extra and shop at Target. It's much cleaner and has much higher standards in the way they treat their employees.

Here is a small excerpt from the book ...

"Most shocking to everybody should be the fact that WalMart is now the number one large-business employer in America...paying minimum wage and considering 28 hours a week to be "full time". No wonder America is slowly becoming a third-world country. In the past, when I actually shopped at WalMart, I felt like I was entering a third world country when I passed through those wheezing doors. Now I know why."

Yes...Wal-Mart and all big box stores.

They eliminate the competition by forcing small, local owned businesses to close...but that's not the real reason....

Large stores set that set the standard for lower prices also forced the producers of those cheap products to manufacture the products cheaper. Hence, companies moved operations to Mexico or import the products from China.....meaning less manufacturing jobs in America.

Less jobs in America means less income taxes being paid, less Social Security being contributed to which contributes to the financial deficit of both government and Social Security. Social Security is expected to run out of funds in the next 30 years or so.

Our country has learned nothing from history. The major reason the south lost the Civil War is because it had no industry to manufacture goods. When will our leaders wake up and realize the US is heading for disaster?

Of course, yes. Wal-Mart is now the world's biggest corporation, having passed Exxon~Mobil for the top slot. It hauls off a stunning $220 billion a year from We the People (more in revenues than the entire GDP of Israel and Ireland combined).

There is a wal-mart conspiracy theory. http://www.hiddenmysteries.org/conspiracy/facts/walmart.html

No. but when these cloods with the wake up wal-mart, the ACLU, and unions get to them..then the whole USA will feel the fall...if these stupid groups just dont leave Wal-mart alone and go somewhere else and bug someone else, they will be the down fall of a once great company that will cripple America when it falls...

I wouldn't say they run it but, they do cause a bit of confusion simply because we as Americans want the cheapest price for the products we buy but, at the same time we want to buy American made products. Wal Mart offers us the cheaper prices, however, most of what we buy comes from overseas. Rumor has it that a lot of what we buy, comes from sweatshops with products being made by child labor. But then again, as long as we're getting a good deal,,,,,,do we really care? ,,,,,,,I do.

It is probably ruining some of the smaller companies, but in the broad scope of things, Wal-Mart is probably the only thing keeping this country from falling apart economically.

No, but they are the most greedy people I've ever seen in my life. The stores, at least where I live, are TERRIBLE. They don't have enough people working there and the shelves are half-empty while there are tons of boxes of goods all over the store. It's totally ridiculous.
