I think it depends on the driver. Have to say that you see allot more older japanese cars on the road then european. And Japanese cars are also allot cheaper to maintain then over priced european parts an services.

All of the European cars are a different version of a Volkswagen. I would prefer a Volkswagen to a Japanese car.

The Jap's make pretty good cars but their suspensions are a bit deliate for our bomb crater pot holed roads in the US.

If you had to choose a comparable car you would want to go with the most mass produced and that would be the Jap cars. They all (Jap and Euro) have very high priced repair parts compared to the mass produced American cars.

Good Luck!

hey man...any car is only as good as the maintenance it recieves and how well it is driven. A 100 thousand dollar Mercedes beaten by an idiot driver will not last long--and a KIA driven like a human and receiving proper care will last for 200,000 miles. Cheap repairs??? You get what you pay for---remember that!!!

66 toyota fj40 landcruiser
70 corolla

Agree with the answer above me. I have a British car that's lasted for 40 years and 200,000 thousand miles. It depends on how carefully the car is maintained.
