I don't know what to think. The police should keep trying to find the girl in case she is being held somewhere. But usually a kidnapped child is killed within a few days of being taken by strangers. I have to wonder why the other children were not bothered.? I also wonder about the quality of parents that would leave their children to sleep in a strange location while they go away to dine. I wish that Maddie would be found. You're probably right....this is not going to end at all well. I just can't believe that parents could even accidentally kill their child and just hide her body. They should've just reported it as it happened. May Maddie's soul rest in peace.

A very obscure case. It could be that is was the parents who killed that little girl, may it have been an accident or intention. In fact they did by the way that they left three little kids alone back in a hotel room. Which "parents" go and enjoy their meal or whatever and leave such little kids alone? They outraging neglected their responsibility and should be punished for this at first. If they were such good caring "parents" they could have found a solution instead looking after their own enjoyment. If parents are not able to handle such a situation, they should not go on holidays till the kids are in an older age or take them with them where ever they go. As long as the girl is not found as long no result.

They smell and it's not of rotting meat (wth is that btw). They can say it all they want. The investigation has gone to focus in their direction for a reason. It does not mean the investigation in other areas is closed. The mc canns have enough money, friends and family they could continue in their own direction if they so pleased. They seem to have no problems in taking a stand against the pj and crying the blues to the public. For Pete's sake, what about your child you ask, who's looking for her? Exactly, what about her? I haven't seen their focus change yet, today they were on about worrying their phones were being tapped...Hey kate and gerry, from me to you, WHO gives a sheit!!

I agree totally, if they find the abductor/murderer they will know what happened to Madeline. If that's the parents, so be it.
We presume the police have already looked up, down and under everywhere possible a child could go.
Remember the case of JonBenet Ramsey in USA, where after extensive searching she was found in the family's cellar. the parents were accused but never found guilty.
Some nutter confessed but he was proved innocent and her murderer has never been found.
Read about it, the cases are similar

I don't particularly agree.

I just wish they'd stop and feeding all these stories to the newspapers and then blaming the Portuguese press for printing stuff. I really believe that they are the ones who began turning the attention away from the search for Madeleine by having their pals put out stories criticising the PJ.

It really smacks of double standards.

I think their are definately questions they should answer. Surely if they want the police to refocus on looking for Maddie they should get off their backsides, stop whining on about all the injustice and get back over to Portugal and clear this matter up quickly, then perhaps the police would start reinvestigating. Something with them two just aint right.

I would ask you or anyone else judging them already to give reason let alone proof that they did or had anything to do with the daughter's disappearance let alone death. Obviously the girl is in all tragedies dead by now but there's not evidence substancial or other wise that really proves or gives reason to justify arresting them which is why they haven't been arrested yet. I don't follow the story but from the bits & pieces I have heard there's no remote evidence linking them to the disappearance let alone the killing yet which again is why they haven't been arrested or put on trial. Afterall like the US in most European countries you can't be tried again later so if their going to do it they want to do it right & until theirs something remotely tying them to a crime they won't. Other then being stupid or bad parents so far theirs just not enough to even hint in them doing anything. You can't just go on gut or personal feelings.

I agree with bpeter.
Until there's concrete proof that Madeleine was murdered by her parents, we shouldn't vilify them (except for leaving the children alone that fateful night).
And for all those who still maintain she was thrown overboard from a boat, I apologise for the unintended pun with the use of the word concrete.

clever way to move focus off them and discract people from the facts, all this about transfering dna does that mean we should release prisoners who have been convicted through evidence of dna.
