i have a 99 dodge ram 1500 and basicly when the buttons pushed it feels like a peice of plastic is moving like there is nothing there. and the light on the driver side just kind of comes on when you shut the door or if you tap around it. but the light that shines on the passenger side wont shut off at all no matter how many times its pushed or fooled with.(It stays on even when the dome light is turned to off and the doors are all the way shut)

Is there any way to take the bulb out or some how shut it off so my battery doesnt die?

I had the same problem. The button in the console broke. There are 2 options. 1) Get a new overhead console.2) Pull the overhead console out and turn the swich off. It should be easy to pull the console.. Mine only had 2 screws and then a few clips that I had to manipulate around the head liner. Good Luck.

Could be a broken switch, or could be you have a stuck door pin. If your door pin is sticking (there should be a push type pin on each door pillar so when you close the doors the lights go out) or not retracting all the way then even when your doors are closed the circuit for the lights still think the doors are open. Very common problem. try lubing them and pushing them in and out maybe that will work. You could always pull the fuse until you can get it properly checked. shouldn't cost much.

Here we are guessing again, YMM (year, make and model) and i can give an accurate diagnosis! ADDED: The dealer is the LAST place you want to take your vehicle for repair unless it is absolutely necessary (most all of the techs at the dealership are straight out of trade school and lacking hands on experience, That way they don't have to pay them that much per flat rate hour)

Or you could just buy a Chevy.

MOPAR= Mostly Old Parts and Rust

Too much junk being pushed off those assembly lines. The Jap's are taking over.

Good Luck!

you could pull the interior light fuse, then drive it to the crusher as this is a major league gas guzzler.
