Is the worry that people have associated with men abducting children affected society's view on men and is it justified?

My apologies, I meant children in the question...

Any lone adult that would try to play with my children would put my senses on alert. They have been taught caution and to trust that ut oh feeling. They will say hello or talk to strange adults at times, but only with me or their dad near them.

Protecting your children is ALWAYS justified! Abduction, abuse or any other criminal or sick behavior against children is too easy because they are born trusting and innocent.

So to answer you, no, it is not acceptable. As much as I wish this world was a place of trust and acceptance I have learned the hard way it is not.

I am in that age group and live alone since my wife died many years ago. Not a day goes by, that I wouldn't give anything for a kind word, a hug and a kiss from a woman. There is nothing abnormal about wanting to touch someone or have someone touch you. I am talking about being discreet because some people actually do not like to be touched. For what it is worth, the desire for human contact never really dies, and lucky is the man who has someone that he can hug. I remember reading about an experiment conducted many years ago with chimpanzees who were separated from the tribe and kept in isolation. They were well cared for in every other aspect, and it was found that because they lacked contact with other Chimps, they also died sooner. .

I think it depends on surroundings... I would hope that my children wouldn't play with or talk to a strange man or woman, you just never know in today's world. If I were there and could supervise the conversation, it would be a different story.

It is neither accepted nor tolerated.

To be perfectly frank, if I stumbled upon any man or woman attempting to play with or talk to my son without my prior approval I would raise bloody hell.

Not to mention my son has explicit permission to aim for the shin area with his little cleats should anyone attempt to strike up a convo...

I think it depends on how he's acting. If it's just some friendly old man I would still keep an eye on him, but I wouldn't be worried. But if he looked like he just crawled out of a sewer, that's a whole different issue.

A stranger of any sort should not confront a child without a parents knowledge and permission.Men don't scare me any more than women, look at that Yates lady (I can't call her what I want to on here) she drowned her OWN children.I can't imagine her having regard for any human life.

No, I don't think it's acceptable. And yes, it probably is the worry of kidnap and rape. Which is really too bad. Single moms could meet many more good guys if it were acceptable.

It is the one reason I wont coach little league or other sports as I am concerned that I will be falsely accused of something. It is truly a sad state of affairs.

Yes, I wouldn't want a grown up man playing with my kids...when being a parent nothing is too extreme to protect kids.

Not any more. People seem to take a dim view of this.
