I too am bi-polar. I have ups and downs. I cannot assure you that you will always be happy. It really is a love hate relationship with some one that has the disorder. it can literally be good one minute and horrible the next. I would say stick too it, but! be aware people are in different stages in their lives. realize what he wants out of the relationship and expect full commitment out of him. if he is ready to settle down then go for it. if not, cut your loses, because this relationship can take a serious toll on your mental health and well-being. Realize what stage in life you both are > serious or dating. if not serious Have fun and enjoy your life!

Sorry to hear about your friend...
As long as he/she takes the meds Rx they will be fine...
It's when they take the meds and then feel like they don't need them anymore because everything is fine, and stop taking them....This is when the spiral of emotion starts...
As long as this person is not willing to do what it takes to "control the cycle" there is nothing you can do to be a friend....you can't allow them to walk all over you!
You can't condone the lies!
You can't help someone who won't help themselves, or think they can do anything they want, regardless of their condition...
Especially if they are drinking and doing street drugs...this is how most bipolar's will self-medicate themselves..and ditch the doctor's prescriptions, and counseling...
Take a breather and chill on this one....
Guard your heart!~and God Bless you!

Sweetie at its best bipolar is a roller coaster ride. Do something for me. Research it, learn what it is all about. Not only do they have to never miss a dose of there medication, they have to realize they can't do without it. Though this is a constant struggle with it. They need to see there therapist when needed cause medications need to be adjusted. I want you to think long and hard, do you want to stay his gf? Is this taking a toll on you? Your not a failure if you walk away. You have to take care of and nuture you....Good luck.
