I have a 10 gallon tank and the filter is SUPER strong. One of my chores today was to clean the tank and my finger got stuck onto the filter. I was thinking about buying a turtle and keep it in that tank, but I'm afraid that the turtle will get stuck too. Also, (there isn't an easy way to explain this) my tank was a waterfall (hehe) I hope you know what I mean. The filter sucks the water and it comes out of this hole. Ok, whatever, I really hope you get the picture.

Is there any way to make the "waterfall" fall gently into the water without a loud noise?

Sounds kind of like you are using a power head to create the water fall. You can buy a smaller power head, find a power reducing knob on the one you have (may or may not have one), You could modify the intake so it has a larger intake and cover the intake with mesh or other covering. Cover the intake front with a piece of slate or other object to prevent the turtle from getting close to it. Good luck!

If u put a turtle in that tank, youve got to get a new filter. If u dont he will get stuck. Ask the folks at your local pet store. They'll be able to help you.

They make filters for turtle tanks that have shallow water...Fluval is one brand. A 10 gallon is too small for even one baby turtle!
