Honestly. It's a bat. You don't have to find hidden meaning in EVERYTHING.
But even so:
- In China, bats represent the god of happiness, Fuxing.
-The Maya considered the bat as a creature of death and the underworld, and the House of the Bat had to be crossed to get to the Land of the Dead.
-The Tupinamba believe that a bat will swallow the sun at the end of the world. (wonder how they would've reacted to an eclipse)
-The Zotzil tribes revere Zotz, the bat-god as their patron
-Zumi: they thought the bat brings rain
