Depends on the company.

Some pay straight commission, some pay commision plus a small wage, and some pay wage only.

Typical commisions range from 1-2%.

I pay my top sales staff 3% plus a wage because they're phenominal at what they do and have been with me for 10+ years.

Look in the employee parking lot. Any Mercedes? Any BMWs?

Most work on commission. They are paid a percent of what they sell. Say, 3% on an average mattress. More on a deluxe model with a higher margin. Probably less than 1% on any model that's advertised. It is a very tough, competitive business. Good luck.

I can't imagine this being a great wage earning job.Ii would guess that they pay minimum wage and possibly a commission.
