I'm wearing black to support the Jena 6. If you dont know what that's about, you can do a Yahoo! search, or go to http://www.colorofchange.org. Are you wearing black?

Last fall in Jena, Louisiana, the day after two Black high school students sat beneath the "white tree" on their campus, nooses were hung from the tree. When the superintendent dismissed the nooses as a "prank," more Black students sat under the tree in protest.
A series of white-on-black incidents of violence followed, and the DA did nothing. But when a white student was beaten up in a schoolyard fight, the DA responded by charging six black students with attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
It's a story that reads like one from the Jim Crow era, when judges, lawyers and all-white juries used the justice system to keep blacks in "their place"--but it's happening today. The families of these young men are fighting back, but the odds are stacked against them.
Only Bell remains in jail, on a $90,000 bond.
Bell is scheduled for a Sept. 20 sentencing hearing where he faces up to 22 years in prison.
We are wearing BLACK to support these 6 on the day of Mychal Bell's hearing.

No because I don't know much about what is going on with the Jena 6. I heard that it had something to do with racial issues and that 6 African American kids jumped a Caucasian kid and now the 6 are being charged with something like attempted murder. I think that it was wrong for the fight to be a 6 on 1 fight. Those boys should be punished for what they have done but attempted murder is ridiculous. They should be charged with something like Aggravated Assault not Attempted Murder. Also the Caucasian kids that have been messing with the African American kids should be in trouble of some of the stuff that they did too. I didn't even know that there were places in this country that are still so full of racist people. That makes my stomach turn just thinking about it.

No I am not. I feel sorry for that entire town. There were wrongs done by both parties and it has destroyed many many lives of people that did not deserve any of it.
Maybe I will wear black and white to promote togetherness, what a concept that would be.
