Its another way to avoid peace or humanity at all costs. I dont see how it hurts. IF he seems like hes grieving then it makes him a human being. IF it looks like a photo op then the rest of the world will take a dim view of him. I dont see how its a losing proposition.

There were 3 Lebanese in the WTC. Iran also has the largest population of Jews outside Israel and 2 of them died as well.

i think we be damned more in arab media for denying him the visit...maybe he's trying to express forgiveness to the US..

Lets not forget- Just as Iran has commited wrongs against the U.S. I dont see many people here or in the media reminding us that the US military blew an Iraninan commercial airliner out of the sky in the 1980s killing all the civilians aboard.

No head of state has traveled there to lay a wreath for that or the victims of the Shah and CIA coup.

Other than denying the Holocaust, threatening to destroy Israel (not that he could), threatening the United States (ludicrous, despite Bush's rants) and a long list of other insulting statement? Yes--he and his government are known supporters of terrorist organizations.

He is not a US citizen and has no right to be anywhere in this country if we don't want him--and for anyone who has made the kind of statements he has repeatedly made to be allowed at the WTC site would be an insult to the Aemericans who died there.

What a question. He is not deserving of an honor like that. His presence is a disgrace to those mudered. He doesn't like Jews nor Americans, why let him gloat?.

It's a photo op.
Muslims were gleeful...dancing in the streets on 911.
I would check the wreath for explosives.

Ask the Iraqis that die because his people are setting bombs in marketplaces? He funds terrorism, the same sort of people that created ground zero in the first place. Its an act of hypocricy and kudos to New York for not allowing this man to use them as a photo op.

One can only imagine what his statements would be. I imagine he would make some inflammatory statements supporting the people who carried out that crime. NYC didn't the right thing by not playing into his hands.

I honestly can't believe that I got thumbs down for that. This guy claims the holocaust didn't happen!

The wreath he wishes to lay is for the hijackers, not the dead Americans. I say he can lay his wreath at our memorial when he first lays a wreath at the graves of the holocaust victims...

I'm kinda confused myself. I'm not sure how it damages our psyche or anyone elses to do so. It's odd, and it shows a lot of disrespect to a leader that hasn't done anything directly to us.
