What has changed; he surrendered in Iran in 1979, which is what brought us to the place we are now.

He surrendered to the Chinese by giving the Panama Canal away; the Chinese now run it.

He surrendered to Hugo Chavez by approving and certifying his original election.

If I did not know any better I would think he was French. He is not even that, the French are getting it together while Jimmy continues to collect the Noble Prize for US bashing.

Who knowns maybe for the same reason President Ford felt he needed to leave Bush a message reguarding the Iraq war. It's says a lot when a former president of ones own party leaves that type of message.

If by "surrender" you mean bring all our troops home so no more of them have to die and our country will not be endangered by the violent political strife and Islamist extremists stirred up in this war,

Maybe it's
Because he doesn't like soldiers dying for a neocon's ego? Because he has a working knowledge of world affairs?
Because his foreign policy ideas are more sophisticated that "yee-ha"?

Typical. The cons get us into a costly, illegal, quagmire of a war and they point the finger at the critics as wanting to "surrender." I wish Bush were a Democrat because all the attacks upon him by the cons would have probably gotten us ready to get out by now.
