When working full time, you spend about one third of your day at a job. Why do that if you hate it? On the other hand, it is an income, and we all need to live. I think if you keep looking, that would be a good idea. But that's just me.
I've had jobs I hated and it really does ruin your whole day, not just the time you are there.

First of all, you should try to ask to have a meeting to discuss your feelings of the lack of teamwork. People may be feeling the same way but are afraid to voice their opinions. This cannot be the crappiest job because there are other jobs that requires you to loose all your dignity to get on your knees to scoop poop or to dump trash. The way I think of it: honest work for honest pay. You've earned every dollar. Be proud. Besides, jumping from job to job after only a week of work will not look nice when you you have write it down and explain to your next potential employer. They will think that you will flake out on them too. They will not hire you. Stick in there for a while longer. You will learn lots of experience even if it does seem menial right now. Communications, working with others, leadership can be learned at this job you have. If you can, go back to school and get a higher degree. Your work experience and higher degree will take you places! Good luck! :D

It is interesting.
Team work has been considered a buzz word for many years now. Unfortunatly it is among those buzz words that are down played.
I suspect that you will have this job as long as you wish to have it simply because you do recognize the importance of 'working together'.
2 things can happen - only one will work for you.
If you stick it out, you will be recognized for it as long as you don't let these other clowns drain your spirt.
The second is that you will hang on to this job until something better comes along.
I have left good paying jobs for the same reasons you are experiencing at Walmart, and, judging by your comment that 'it is good money' I suspect you are young.
I won't tell you what you should do - only you know that, but I will tell you that if I were in a position to hire you, it would be done in the the blink of an eye.
A good work ethic and ability to work within a team (assuming it exists at all) is rare in this age of 'give it to me now and dont' tell me what to do!'.
Best of luck.

Sigh! What can I say--I myself have just finished a paralegal internship, but there are no jobs in this town (I obviously can't afford to move.) My friend is a massage therapist and she told me to apply for the front desk position at the posh spa she works for. I did, and the boss said "Position is filled, but I could really use a cleaning lady." I took it, because I am still knocking out one last class to finish my degree and I needed the flexible hours. And I am very good at cleaning. I do it, but I hate it!!!!!! I know exactly how you feel. Tell your supervisor about why you are not happy--there should be no reason that you are doing all of the work yourself, especially if it means poor customer service (who bears the brunt of angry customers? You, if you don't say anything!) If you gotta work at WalMart, keep an eye out for a management position, otherwise, get out of there!

Stay there until you find another job or you could always see about working a different shift or getting a transfer to a different department. Whatever you do don't let them put you in the fitting room department. The people who work the fitting room are the ones who answer all of wal-mart's calls from PO'ed customers. I know someone who does that and she hates it. Life is too short to be miserable at a job that you hate.

I've held the same crappy job for five years.
The reason I've kept it?
Most of the time there is teamwork but I've also learned to accept challenges when under pressure and by myself "running the show"
I think the lesson you could learn from it would be self-sufficiency and if all else fails, find another job but remember- It could end up being exactly what you left for in the first place!

You could do what i'm doing and be a custodian/janitor at a university if there is one close by! That way you have job security and don't have too deal with anyone except for professors and grad students and you can get a tuition waiver for like 9 credits for 25 bucks...oh and really good benefits>>>Just a suggestion. Although i'm sick of cleaning toilets..But 2 more years and I will have a Bachelors.

Yeah I know all about crappy jobs there a dime a dozen hard to find a good place to work.. But stay at this job even though you loathe it till you can find something else. So keep looking putting out resumes and looking on job sites and when you find something. THen give your two weeks notice. If they treat you really bad then just say see ya!

you should stick to the job what you are paid to do, there are always ppl in the work place that want to take it easy but the good workers are almost always rewarded in the end as the managers/supervisors notice and know who is good...........it always looks good on the resume if you have worked a long time at a company which indicates loyalty and also you can explain in the interview for a new job that my previous/current job at Wallmart, the reason for leaving was the lack of team work

I'm in love with the deli girl at my Walmart. If you're her, lets just run away together to another town where a Walmart hasn't opened yet. Is Guadajano, Mexico cool with you?
