They all of the sudden have a scare of a terminal illness from a doctor. After they find out it was just a false alarm or they caught it early enough they turn over a new leaf and didn't realize what they had?

It sound as if he has anger or control issues. Violence is often used to dominate and it will be very difficult for the VICTIM to trust the person who used it again. Not a very good basis for a relationship.

My marriage ended because my wife just didn't feel that kind of love, it didn't get ugly, and we kept the break up peaceful. I tried to get her to go to counseling, to talk to me about the problems that we might of had, but she wanted out. People are different, and it depends on how much he cares for her and how long it takes to accept that the marriage is over that will show what he will do to get her back. I wish them the best.

I don't know why people waste their time. Couples get married, they fight and suffer one hardship after another to make it, they soon divorce and then begin the wide range of vindictiveness. It's beyond retarded.
