he says he doesnt care about records. he said this 10 years ago, he's saying it again today a million times, yet people are idiotic to thinking he's only still in the nfl to break records. here's a link to clear your minds! he plays for the love of the game, something you are obviously not used to.

You are 100% right. He was on TV today and was asked about a record, and he didn't even know which one he was about to break. He has always said that he won't think about any records except won/loss records untill after he retires. FAVRE IS FOOTBALL!

It's what people like to say because it's what they would do if they were in his position. If you notice, most people on here don't know much about the subject they answer about. So basically, ignorance. It's not only Favre who has said so, so have the guys who played with and against him.

He is last year proved it he was hardly a great qb last year he was mediocre at best. This year will be more of the same once he plays some stiffer competition! He's just playing for the records anyone you ask still says he should have retired two years ago. Favre is done his team will not even make the playoffs.

When you do something your entire life it is extremely hard to step away from it. I really though that he was done after the final game last year but things are on the up and up at Titletown and he still loves to play the game of football.

You really wouldn't understand unless you played the game since you were in the first grade which he has.

i have to say right off the bat, i am a steelers fan. however, favre is one of my favorite players. he plays the game for all the right reasons. he plays for the love of the game. he has played hurt, angry, among other things. i have always thought he is a class act and is a symbol of what professional football is all about. he doesn't moan that his line hasn't blocked for him(manning), or that his receivers haven't made the catch, he is a class act with hall of fame status. he should be every kids hero. top notch all the way!!!

If Favre is in it for the love of the game he wouldn't be so indecisive about it. He is past his prime and should have left a good while ago. It doesn't matter why he is there anyway. Quit wasting your time worrying about the whys & enjoy your cheese head while you still got him.

i think that is a terrible thing to think about when you think of favre...he cried when he thought he was going to retire...THE MAN LOVES THE GAME!!!!! HE LOVES IT, IT IS IN HIS BLOOD!!!! ANYONE WHO LOVES FOOTBALL HAS IT IN THEIR BLOOD AND DOES NOT WANT TO EVER GIVE IT UP!!!! STOP TALKIN TRASH ABOUT FAVRE, THE MAN IS DEDICATED AND NOTHING ELSE... breaking the records is just a plus, he has nothing else to prove other than he loves the game...period

Because he is.

And because if he didn't play, John Madden would be heartbroken and have to find another object for his unbridled and deeply disturbing lust.
