Yes, many times.
In High School: volunteered to work in the Principal's Office and the Coach's Office. Then after graduation, volunteered to work at the County's Recycling Center. During a sabbatical between careers, I was a proof reader for the City Mayor's Office and a member of the City's Volunteer Corp. I have also done volunteer work for my political party.

Yeah, a couple of years ago, I volunteered at an adult day care for senior citizens who couldn't take care of themselves. I served lunch, helped with morning activities/games, and assisted the clients to their chairs. More recently I volunteered for a day in April of this year, at the Philadelphia Zoo, for Autism Awareness Day. I sold merchandise, gave temporary tattoos to guests, and provided information about autism. It was a really fun day except toward of the end of the day I wasn't feeling well. But I think I'll do it again next year.

Yes I volunteered for one day a week to help run an arts and crafts class for disabled people.I received such a lot satisfaction from looking after these poor unfortunate people. Some were so talented and most would paint beautiful pictures with the use of a paint brush that they put in their mouths. It was quite incredible the results that were produced.A few weeks later we would arrange to display the art work at the local library which was next to the Kenneth More theatre in Essex,England. We would arrange special transport to take them all to the library to see their pictures displayed on the walls. After that we would take them to the local park to have their lunch and paint by the lake which was full of beautiful swans. One particular pupil was totally helpless and I use to feed her and push her wheelchair. At the end of that particular outing she turned to me and said"Thank-you so much for a wonderful day" and I thought to myself how could anyone in that unfortunate position have a wonderful day,she really meant it. At least I made one person happy that day and that is called satisfaction.

Yes. It has it's good and bad points. Volunteering can turn easily into an obligation, and then your not really volunteering anymore. However, volunteering your time and services helps you grow as a person, and that is invaluable.
