Why does Al Gore tell us all to use less energy and he doesn't do it himself. His house uses something like 30 times the amount of energy as the average household and he flies all over in his private jet putting off more pollution than 10 of our Hummers in a year but yet he's so concerned about the environment. If he were that concerned wouldn't he be doing this stuff himself? Btw, global warming is a sham.

First off I don't belive your fact about 90% of scientist but lets say it's true. There is no scientific evidence that provies global warming is true. At one time 100% of scientists thought the world was flat, how did that one turn out again?

Yahosucksb, interesting how the liberal democrat who answered gives no answer and just attacks me and calls me a six year old. Typical of liberal democrats.

First, the claim that Gore uses 20 or 30 times the enrgy in his home as average Americans was a lie put out by a right-wing political group. And the Tennesee power company released his records to prove it. And his home is now powered mainly by solar energy.
So your accusations are based on falsehoods.
As for his private het--use some commmon sense. Gore is a former Vice-President, and has others-including a Secret Service detail, with him wheereever he goes. He CAN'T fly a regular commercial jet like the rest of us.
Not that honest or fairness matter to the right-wing--but if you are going to repeat their lies, don't b e surprised if everyone assumes you are as dishonest as they are.

First off, your figures are flawed, but even if they were correct, and even if Gore was the biggest hypocrite in the world, an ad hominem argument is a logical fallacy and a debate loser.
Secondly, there was never a time when 100% of scientists thought the world was flat.
Global warming is a scientific absolute. It is a certainty. It does exist. No respectable scientist denies it nor doubts it. The CAUSE is what is debatable, but the overwhelming evidence is that human activity is in large part responsible. The other question is whether or not it is too late to do anything about it. It may well be, but NONE of the suggestions for how to curb the problem are harmful, while ignoring the suggestions could well be to our detriment and the detriment of future generations.
Now, for the basic premise of this question. Al Gore has an old estate in Tennessee which he is constantly upgrading to bring it into compliance with his own standards .The home serves as his office and houses several employees. This means that it should not be compared to the average house in that particular region of the country. A better comparison would be with an office complex, and in that regard, Gore is very eco-friendly even considering the age of the estate.
UPDATE for Justgetitright; Re-read what I have written. I acknowledged that there is debate over the cause of global warming. However, global warming itself is a reality. The median temperature of the planet is increasing at a fairly steady and measurable rate. There's no guess work involved here. In some parts of the world, the effects are more obvious than in others, and in some parts, the regions are actually cooling due to shifts in the jet stream etc.
But the arctic ice IS melting off. Huricanes ARE on the increase. None of this is opinion.

As someone who has been going though these left wing disaster warnings for over four decades here is my opinion. It is based on a very sound approach to determining a man's voracity. That approach is "watch what a man does not what he says".
As a very public spokesman for the claim that global warming is a serious problem and is directly attributable to the actions of man, we can assume Mr. Gore has far more data on the subject than the average person.
That being the case, would you expect anyone who has such information and believes in the conclusion that man is causing it to still be flying around in a private (and in this case very inefficient) jet? Would you expect him to live in a massive mansion that uses many times more energy than is necessary for survival? Or would you expect such a person to be boarding up that house, grounding that jet and driving a hybrid?
It just seems to me that if I he truly believed everything he was saying about global warming, he would be far too afraid to live so "carbon unfriendly". But that does not seem to be the case.
Now, using my "watch what he does not what he says approach", what can we determine based on his actual behavior? My conclusion based on his behavior is that he does not perceive any impending danger due to the use of carbon based fuels or he is deliberately trying to hasten the disaster.

Because he buys carbon offsets. Apparently it's the newest way for scumbags to rip people off. You can use as much power as you want as long as you pay these offsets. How that helps the environment I have no idea. Wouldn't surprise me if Gore or someone very close to him owns major shares of these sham companies that sell carbon offsets. BTW you are right about global warming.
*** Don't take the "6 year old" comment above me seriously. Look at his picture. I sure didn't hear an answer either. Typical lib....if you have no answer attack the person asking the question.

Hes a hypocrite. If he was so concerned about Global warming he should have done more when he was VP. If by some bad luck a Democrat gains the WH next year I think Global warming will disappear as an issue.

Because he is a better person than you or I and deserves as much energy as he thinks is necessary to keep the Al Gore project running as smoothly as possible. How dare you question his majesty's fuel consumption habits! Such insolence will lead to damnation, you lowly peasant! Get your mind right and fall prostrate at the feet of our global warming messiah...Algore.

It is typical far left Liberal thinking. It's the same that some Kennedy tells us we shouldn't drive SUV's, yet he and his family have a whole fleet of them and a private jet. They just want to make sure there is plenty of fuel for them. They don't care anything about you. Remember that. It's important.

Are you sure about that or did you hear it from a Republican station. I'm sure he uses more than the average family that makes 30,000 a year, many of the elite do. But on the other hand he has worked very hard to open peoples eyes to the future. Trust me, the electricity he uses is minimal in the all the pollution put out by the world. I think he has done more than his share to save the world.

"Do as I say, not what I do"
He has exempted himself from his own fairytale
EDIT: Note to some_mystery_4_u
Here, read this. Less than 50% of published scientists endorse global warming.

why does that number keep getting bigger?? the first two hundred or so times this question was asked it said he used 20 times as much.
The fact is, he used about 12 times as much as the average household. The fact is, his house is about 12 times or more bigger than the average household. It is like you comparing Gore's electrical use to that of an office buildings usage. It's apples and oranges.
