I have a Lexus ls400 and when i drive ONLY THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT WHEEL takes on bumps very hard. I can drive and hit a pot hole and the Passenger side wheel will, bounce you right off and you can barley feel the bump...If i do the same hittin a pot hole on the DRIVER SIDE FRONT WHEEL it will hit so hard it feels like im driving on a RIM only. Thats how hard the THUMP and THUD is when i hit bump , even speed bumps. It will not give you a smooth ride over bumps in the road

Sounds like a seized shock absorber or strut. Try "bouncing " the car on the passenger side then the drivers side. If the drivers side does not move freely then that would most likely be the cause. Change them in pairs, not only the one side

The first thing I would check is tire pressure on that wheel. If it is ok then your strut is probably no longer charged (probably defective from factory). This is most likely your problem. It will not have anything to do with a bearing or ball joint.

Go with the drivers side strut. Sounds like it's bent or seized in some way.

You've got a serious problem with your left front strut or you've lost a control arm bushing. The car is not safe to drive like that and needs service A.S.A.P.

Your Lexus has struts. The sooner you replace both front units with KYB replacements the problem will go away.
