If you make it it takes up your time and money and you will not get back your investment. Go to another flea market and pick out some items, get a lower price and then take them to your flea market and raise the price.

Quality hand made items take time to make; some of the things you can make have cheaper materrial costs.

If you are going to make junk, buy chinese products and sell at flea markets. If you make quality products, go to organized craft shows.

There will be a lot of good craft shows throughout the country this fall for holiday season shopping wants (a lot of people like to give hand made gifts.) Go to one or two large ones (cost maybe $6-8 each) to see what all is for sale. When individual crafters are not busy, ask them questions. They love questions (and you are not under any obligation to buy.)

I used to sell stained glass at craft shows but haven't the last year or so. The cost of materials has skyrocketed to the point I can't make any money in glass. I have taken up painting for fun in its place.

Good luck.

If you like paper crafts, you might consider making these little paper bag books. They are relatively easy to make (if you have an eye for color and design), they are cheap to make, because you can get brown paper bags at the Dollar Store, and they sell well at craft fairs. Somebody gave me one last Christmas. I loved it and started making my own.

The link below shows you step by step how to proceed.

The one I show on the web site has photographs, because it was a gift for a little boy. To sell, you would pick a theme, design it around the theme and use blank paper where people can attach their own photographs. The one I received as a gift had a cat theme.

Another nice website to browse for ideas is Crafts For All Seasons (link below). It has lots of photos of the finished projects and step by step instructions. Many are very easy and some are more challenging!

If it's easy, anyone can do it so nobody will buy it. Better to find something you love, that you can make better than anyone else. If you are making something and all your friends start asking for it, you know it's a winner.

Original hand-knits do well. Laser cut wood pieces. Hand-smocked baby dresses do well. You can do pretty well with novelty Christmas stockings if you can underprice Big Lots.

Glass painting, gel candles, things made from AOL cd's... not so much.

If you are planning to start on your woodworking project, this isn't something you should use, it's something that you would be insane not to. Go here https://tr.im/WoodworkingProjects
Truth is, I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars.

You are probably tired of looking through stacks and stacks of projects on woodworking in magazines and books of all kinds for some instructions on how to do a certain project. Here is a site which offers 16000 plans https://tr.im/WoodworkingPlansAndTechniques
How would you like to have woodworking plans (actually thousands of them) available to you anytime you wanted them. It would be so easy when you do not have to paw through all kinds of old magazines but have it right there at your fingertips.
