No one denomination is 'better' than another. You should see the one that speaks to you.

Start with the belief-o-matic at beliefnet. It takes your answers and gives you a percentage of similarity to their basic tenants. This includes a variety of Christian and nonChristian 'ologies.

Religion in it's self has become an evil institution, I am a roman catholic and I see all of Christianity becoming as hypocritical and violent as the Islamic religion, I see these two religions at war within the next decade, and when that happens God help us all.

Like many have said here, every church and every denomination has good and bad qualities.

But which church has the most revelation of truth without getting into heresy?

Those would be denominations that preach the spirit filled experience, sometimes reffered to as Pentecostal, charismatic, Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

But just as other churches have error and failure so do these. Some even get into heresy such as the United Pentecostals which say you have to speak in tongues to be saved.

Just because a denomination may have lots of truth and no heresy, doesn't mean a specific local church of that denomination is going to be any good either.

Often times we have to accept a church because the local church meets our spiritual needs. This is the best way to go as long as no heresy or spiritual abuse is present.

You're going to have to qualify "better".

The Catholic Church can be falted for the adhearance to a number of ideals based on church tradition rather than biblical doctrine (i.e. birth control stance, prohibition of masturbation, prohibition on female priests, prohibition on clergical marriage, etc.), but a great number of people like it for it's ceremony, ritual, and the idea of being able to do things concrete (pennance, hail Mary's, etc.) to get right with God.

It's really a question of what you want out of your church. If this is a serious question, rather than an obsequious attempt to try and get people to slam catholisism and then ridicule them for it, try out different churches and denominations until you find the one in which you are the most comfortable and fulfilled.

The best one is where God speaks to YOU the loudest.

I don't think there is any one "best" religion. I think the problem with religion is that people think their religion is the right way or the only way. We need to be more open to other people's views and accept their differences.

You should come visit Japan to ask that question.
They'll probably say, "ANY!", due to their historical
experiences with the attitude of Portugal and Spain.

Orthodox Christians have strong dogmata, too.
I believe, your question for a 'better' comes from
dogmatic education. How can one way be good for all?

Diversity is what enabled mankind to survive.

Don't worry about churches or groups, Christianity is based on the acceptance of Jesus dying for our sins and being raised from the dead, loving God/Jesus and mankind, and trying to help others with your best.
Jesus was sent here to teach us to break away from man made rules and follow the Father's. And this can be easy if we put our ego and selfishness to the side. Don't let other people distract you. Go out into the world with as much love, understanding, and care that you can give.

Christianity can be simply put in one word ... Love.

I am Catholic, but I'm curious. What do you mean by better? I am Catholic because it suits me but that is a matter of tradtion and personal choice, not a better than any other issue.

Whichever one happens to believe in. There is no real objective yardstick by which this sort of thing can be measured.
