I'm in pre-cal this year and we're doing some alg 2 review
and i really don't have the time to factor 100 more problems (i've already done 50 btw)
so yeahh
this one guy in my class has a calculator (it's like the ti-89 or something like that)
and it has a program that factors equations for you
so i figure if a calculator has a program like that
there's got to be a website like that

hahah yeahh your pretty right
i don't really want to do them
i hate things that are repetitive and my alg 2 class spent like 2 freakin months just on factoring

and yes, i am aware that what i am doing is considered cheating but still
if i am positive i can do the work
and i have to read 3 more chapters of the scarlet letter finish a project for AP US history and try catch up from being absent i really don't mind cheating a little bit
thank you though :]

Here's one:

http://www.hostsrv.com/webmab/app1/MSP/quickmath/02/pageGenerate?site=epsb&s1=algebra&s2=factor&s3=basic

I found that it was capable of factoring trinomials in the form ax^2 + bx + c and also the difference of cubes. I would assume it could also do sum of squares, difference of cubes, and trinomial squares.

I'm teaching Pre-Calc. What kind of a monster assigns 150 factoring problems?

****Edit:

On the cheating, my thought is: Here's a young person who's been asked to do something unreasonable and is acutely aware it is so. The homework SHOULD be, "Practice factoring until you are sure that you can do factoring." Clearly, she is. Anyway, if she wasn't, there would be a built-in punishment--failing the test! Furthermore, the fact that a computer can do this work for her is no different from having a calculator do 49 + 32. I suspect the availability of calculators did not ruin this student's ability to add, and neither will the use of a computer ruin her ability to factor. And what is the point anyway? Is it that she should remember how to factor so as to go on to higher concepts, or is it that she should learn to work needlessly so she can become a cog in the machine? Whether she "has the time" is not important. What's important is whether she has the skill. Clearly, she does (either that or she's a liar, and I'd rather take her at her word).

PS the website I found factors expressions, not equations, but of course the asker knows how to apply one to the other.

You have the time. You just don't have the motivation. I am fairly sure that using a program would violate any academic honesty policy your school might have. Besides, if its review, how hard can it be?

I also think your teacher probably isn't aware of this guy's calculator. We weren't even allowed to use a TI 89 in collegiate level Calculus II.

You might not mind cheating, but your teacher sure as hell will. But do as you wish. Karma does exist. Some parts of like suck. I hated math, but I did it, and did it honestly. Real maturity is doing what you don't want to do when you'd rather not do it. You think you're busy now with your little HS book.....try writing a thesis.

sure, i think in UFOs, and have seen 2 valuable sightings, and probable yet another 3 or 4 greater. the main astounding element approximately my 2 valuable sightings, is they the two happened in wide daylight hours, and one grew to become into in a outfitted up metropolitan section. Why no person else seen this alien deliver is previous me, yet to my know-how, there have been no different autonomous comments of the sighting I heard of, even although the alien deliver grew to become into seen in very sturdy gentle circumstances above the place I worked on the time. To on the present time, i won't understand why no one else observed a similar alien deliver I did, and it keeps to be a puzzle to me !
