I am 7 months pregnant with a girl and I am looking for an african american name that starts with San. I want to name the baby after my mom and her name is Cassandra, they call her Sand. So anything with San or similiar to Cassandra.

easily the only call I do like out of those is Diamond. yet i does no longer call my a million/2 african unborn newborn that now, considering that woman merely spoiled it for me performing ignorant and racist. Now that is all i visit think of of. I did as quickly as meet a pit bull owned by a black guy named Diamond.. I liked the canines nevertheless.. Lol besides. those are exciting names, whether i do no longer think of they're rooted in any variety of African American custom. a lot are biblical, no rely if the individuals are black individuals or have immigrated right here from Africa. P.S - I easily have a super type of acquaintances who immigrated from Africa. they have names like Deborah, Olga, Rita, Mary, Crystal. Olga's brothers names are Kevin and Eric. Then my boyfriend on the different hand has neices named Nanuere and Bumkuath.. Bumkuath means "God is conversing".. It would not sound perfect to me, yet to her mom it does! i think thats all that concerns whilst it comes all the way down to names.

I like Alessandra or Aleksandra (Italian and Russian forms of Alexandra; " The defender,or helper of mankind") and Chrissandra (Christina + Cassandra; name of contestant i saw on Fear Factor)
I also like Sandra / Sandy (my BF's Mom's name)
I think Chrissandra would be the best,though, because it's the closest and is a rare,but beautiful name.

How about Sankofa? That's a nice name.

Just name her Cassandra (Chyenne for the middle name) dont go to over the top. You have to think about the long run, you want your daughter to be able to obtain a job/have a career. Too over the top will have her resume overlooked. Sanaa is pretty also.

I can't think of any... but don't make it too ethnic. Studies have shown that children with overly-ethnic sounding names are not perceived by their teachers to do as well as children with normal-sounding names. Just name her Cassandra, that would really honor your mother!
