how often should i change the biobag in my fish tank

The media in the bag (carbon) should be change according to what you're using it for. It's not necessary to use this at all, but if you're removing medication, I'd let it stay in for at least 1-2 weeks. If you're using it to remove tannins from driftwood, odor, or "just because", you can just change it out every 1-2 months, or as you notice it loses it's effectivness.

For the pouch itself, I use them until the holes are so big on both sides it doesn't "filter" anymore. These are really just to hold any media you use, and to remove physical particles, so don't waste your money throwing them away.

Also, when you clean the pouch, squeeze it out in dechlorinated water or a container of tank water only - if you clean them under the tap, you'll killing beneficial bacteria that help reduce your tank wastes.

Every month should be fine as long as you aren't feeding your fish too much junk, you shouldn't have a problem.
