I gave my mom a pretty wooden box one year for mother's day. I took pretty little pieces of colored paper and wrote 52 reasons why I love her or happy memories I had of her.I rolled them up and tied a ribbon around each one and told her to open one a week for the next year. Kinda like the gift that keeps on giving. She loved it so much she cried.

A quilt for their bed. A long time ago people used to make quilts called friendship quilts. Friends and family would give the quilter scraps of material from their shirts or dresses, etc. and the quilter would make a quilt out of all these scraps. I think that this kind of a quilt would make a very special gift for someone special. The quilt pattern would not have to be elaborate. The quilting material would be the thing that made it special...as well as the fact that you took the time to make it yourself. Good luck on you chosen project.

I think any homemade gift should show that you actually put some thought into that person. Scrapbook type mementos are always good for anyone. My dad's favorite gift was a photo album I put together of us along with a CD that contained songs that had meaning (like ones he'd sing to me when I was younger) with little explanations in the sleeve of why I chose them.

Well, since everyone *I* know drools whenever I say "chocolate chip cookie" that's what I'd make. For some reason, they think mine are better than anyone else's. I don't know why, I don't do anything special. But that's what I'd make.

I'm a bartender. I was feeling creative a little while ago and made a special cocktail and named it after my sweetie. She loves it as do many of my customers.

Some jewelry like earrings or a necklace. Or if you can make a fleece blanket, that would be nice too.
