I once had a question on here about different cultures and some dude called me a "DIVERSITY EMBRACER" (in a negative context)

Is being a "diversity embracer" a negative thing?

Just curious

I guess that really depends. If you are embracing diversity while shunning your own people....yes, it is negative. Unfortunately, it is extremely common in America for people to fall into this. If you are embracing diversity while also embracing your own role within a diverse environment, than no, it is not negative.

If you are pushing diversity to the point that you exclude your own groups, then it is unhealthy. Otherwise, diversity is really necessary for the survival of the human race. I have known people that exclude their own race, regional group, gender group, whatever classifications they themselves belong to in favor of associating and identifying with various minorities, or just different groups. In order to really be embracing of diversity, we must love and embrace our own culture, while loving and embracing the peoples of other cultures.

"diversity embracer" or "diversity rejector"

I'd think the "rejector" would be the insult, but who knows? Sometimes people intentionally try to provoke others, which is a poor reflection of their own character.

By no means is this a bad thing, it just means that you are educated on a more well rounded basis and more open minded.
The guy who bashed you is very likely a racist, right wing nut job that thinks god should only bless America and **** all others.

diversity means different example: there is alot of diversity in new york city which means hundreds of different cultures live in new york.
and embrace means welcome to embrace somthing is to like it or welcome it so i guess you welcome/like other cultures/races then. and thats not negative.
