first you need to use the distributive property
When you use the distributive property you should get
2x-12=3x
Then what you want to do is group like terms so you would subtract 2x from each side and get
-12=x
And that is your answer.
To verify that my answer is correct just simply plug the answer into the equation:
2x-12=3x
2(-12)-12=3(-12)
-24-12= -36
-36= -36
Walah!!

Way too easy isn't hard at all.
2(x-6)=3x (2 times x)(2 times negative 6) not minus 6!
distribute 2.
2x-12=3x
-2x -2x subtract 2x on both sides
-12 x bring everything down
-12=x

Distribute the 2 on the left. Then subtract 2x from both sides. This will get "x" by itself.
