I would definitely say yes.
In today's world, it's not as safe as it was...say....40 years ago. People are grumpy, over worked, and generally too self involved. In the sense that there are also internet predators, pediphiles, and more nuts out there than ever before, also.
On another note, parents are much more involved with their careers than in the past generations. Kids have to be more independent and self sufficent than ever before. Parents now days are focused on their careers and don't have a whole lot of time for proper parenting skills. But of course, that isn't every parent.

In general, no one is more hostile towards children than *other children*.

But overall, I believe that people should stop reproducing. They won't of course, but it seems terribly selfish (to me) to deliberately bring a new life into our world, as it currently is.

Todays world is hostile to children, teens, adults, and seniors. So was yesterday's world.

You bet!
First there are those who have a disoriented sexuality;-{
who are mis-using sex for their own gratification.
Then there are heterosexuals who practice birth control.
Then for the ones who do conceive, we have abortionists.
Even the children who get born are subject to predators.
Then we have physically & emotionally abusive parents.
If that doesn't get them there's gangs & drug dealers.
I'd say the world is very hostile to children.

THE WORLD TODAY INCLUDES ALOT OF SELFISH PEOPLE WHO ONLY SEE CHILDREN AS A SPEED BUMP IN THE WAY OF THEIR SELFISH DESIRES.
