I don't have any studies, I'm just a c-section 2X mom.

I wouldn't try a frank breech vaginally for anything in all the world. My c-sections were quick, easy, and I could sit down afterwards. I had trouble with my daughter's 15cm head. I can't imagine passing the baby's butt... I wouldn't take that chance with my child.

I don't know about any studies to cite, but I do know that my doctor wouldn't touch a vaginal delivery with a 10-foot pole with my frank breech son. He said it was far to dangerous to attempt, because of all the risks involved, including the baby's hips coming out of socket, cord pro-lapse, and the terrifying situation of the baby's head getting stuck up inside.

My son was frank breech and face up, something we discovered when I arrived at the hospital to be induced. We knew he was face up, but my doctors were sure he was head down. I KNEW something was wrong, but they assured me he was otherwise in the proper position. Thank God they did an ultrasound to check right before starting the induction, or I would've had an emergency cesarean instead of the nice, calm planned out one.

It can be dangerous for a baby to be born vaginally if they are breech. There is a chance that the cord can come out before the baby's head and cut off their oxygen supply. My son was born by emergency c-section at 29 weeks. He was breech and he would have died if I would have tried to deliver naturally because his heart stopped for a minute before they were able to get him out.

i might surely choose a vaginal start, merely bc it is how infants have been meant to be born, and additionally bc the restoration from a vaginal is plenty faster customarily than a c-area, additionally bc if i had to have a vaginal start, and already had a c-area with my 1st, my probabilities of uterine rupture throughout exertions strengthen and that i do no longer choose that greater threat. as for medical doctors permitting women to compliment, the hmo i visit might by no skill enable this till you already had a prior c-area. yet sure i agree the alternative would desire to be ours, as long as have been finished term. i additionally think of being triggered would desire to be our selection perfect now. i'm dealing with this difficulty perfect now: i'm 0 cm dilated basically 20 p.c. effaced toddler hasn't dropped yet and that i'm a million day previous my due date! and that i'm no longer able to be triggered til July eleventh on the earliest. i might rather like this selection. i'm 40 weeks medically there is not any reason they cant, yet oh nicely. the alternative would desire to be ours. having an abortion is a horrid ingredient to do on a similar time as having a c-area or triggered exertions are no longer, yet yet medical doctors act like it shouldnt be our selection.

well, i think you pretty much have to go for the c-section with a frank breech. the nurses can try to move the baby around, but it is better for baby and mom to go with the c-section. i had that issue, went with the c-section. it was quick and easy. minimal post op pain.

Don't know of any studies but my OBGYN won't do breach's vaginally. You can try the manual turing of the baby but i had afriend who did that it was EXTREMELY painful it didn't work and had a c-section anyway.

I had a Frank breach baby and it was a nice soomth c-section, at least until the epidural wore off and my anestesia naseau set it. I can thank my mom for that trait!!:)
