Just bought a HOPKINS 7 RV plug and 4 flat wire plug combo. The wires coming out of the back of the plug are as followed. A standard 4 flat wire plug (Brown,Yellow, Green) separate is a larger guage of wire a white (ground) purple, blue, and black.
My truck or trailer has neither electronic brakes on the trailer or control box inside the truck. The only thing I need is for the lights to work on my camper and boat trailer. How do I wire if I don't have electronic brakes. (1998 FORD F-150)

7 Way wiring Index
white = common Ground
blue = electric brake
green = Tail & licesnse
black = battery charge/12V DC
red =left stop and turn
brown =right stop and turn
Yellow =center auxiliary
To avoid all the confusion just simply get a test light and turn on the right turn signal, make a small jumper/test wire and then determine which wire to your vehicle makes the test light
blink, connect your test wire to this terminal and then on your trailer it should be standard 4 wire color coded which will mean the green wire will make the right turn signal blink...test it and see which wire makes the right turn signal blink.....ok now you have right turn signal... now turn on the left turn signal and do the same thing... left on a standard 4 wire is yellow, but red on a 7 wire.... I hope this helps....good luck
