No, I don't want one. I don't even live in the area. I'm just curious to know how much tattoo parlors charge in the Houston area, and whether they charge by hour or by piece?

Well, the price usually depends on the type of tattoo that you are getting. Most of what they call "wall art" (tattoos that are already drawn and some people have tattted on them) they usually have a price and can range from $20-$500 depending on size, where it is on your body and how many colors of ink used. Most "original" pictures, drawings and so forth are usually priced by the hour and can range anywhere from $175 and up.

I hope this answers your question.

If you go looking for a "bargain" (please note the sarcastic quotations) you can probably see $60/hr or so but as indicated above, most seem to be in the neighborhood of from $100-$150 per hour. My guy is $150/hr and worth every cent. Look at it this way, the artist will charge what the market will bear for their work... If they can get more, they will charge more. If they charge a bunch, it means that they can afford to have you walk out the door.

Either. Rates are about $35-40 per hour.
