ABSOLUTELY!!!!!

I tore ligaments and tendons in my left ankle over 5 years ago when I worked at a psych hospital.

They did EVERYTHING there could to not pay a dime - even for my treatment. Due to their delay in approving treatment and because they sent me back to work too soon. I have moderate to severe pain in that ankle everyday. (Now my knee and hip are affected!!!)

Boy I am a mess!!!

It is the insurance companies. You have to realize that there are a high percentage of people who's life goal is to get hurt on the job and draw disability for life. Unfortunate and harsh, but true. If you are hurt as a direct result of a job related injury, you usually don't have too much trouble getting a fair settlement. But if you are careless, or do something dangerous by horsing around, why should the company be liable for that? The cost of employing someone is about 18% ABOVE what shows on the paycheck. And that's not counting health insurance, vacation or other perks. Every time someone collects on an injury claim that is not legitimate, it costs more for everybody. If it's legitimate, you should be compensated. Most people, however, want a million dollar settlement over a carpal tunnel injury or a "bad back". That's business and that's life. peace

I have first hand experience on this. The insurance company did not want to pay- reasoning that I was poor and the State would pay. The owner of the business played dumb.It only took 6 months for the business to fail and 2 years later the insurance company "disappeared" into another insurance company.
Stick to your guns if you feel unjustly denied.

that is not true.....
they will pay if you get hurt on the job because it is the law, and if you think about it logically, it is also good PR.....

if they don't treat their employees well, do you really think they would last long? Think about it.....

Same thing with insurance companies-- if they REALLY tried to get out of paying everything, they wouldn't be able to stay in business.....

Seriously, stop believing all those stupid attorney commercials! What THEY are not telling you is they just want 30-50% of whatever they can get for "you"..... You're nothing more than a new Mercedes to a plaintiff attorney....

That's not always the case! I'm on Work Comp and my company took responsibility from day one!! Doing whatever they could to get me where I needed to be for treatment since I was an over the road truck driver!! They have helped me since I've been off work too, they helped me to switch my short term disability that doesn't pay on work related injuries, they told me what to do to switch it to a long term disability!! That money will help by supplementing the work comp payments I receive!! I do know companies that will fight you but they don't all do it!!

I've been on L&I for a year now and trust me, they pay! Our laws here in Washington state are very sticked on that. They are not only paying me bi-weekly, providing my medical care but now are going to re-trained me. Krogers (the company I worked for) knows the laws very well and really don't push us around, at least they don't push me :-)

I don't think my work would offer, but they are good people there,I don't think they'd fight. But it's a hard call. No, you know what. They would pay. If they thought they were responsible they would pay.

That is what the lawyer ads on TV say. Of course they will try to get out of it to disprove their culpability.
