very thought provoking question honey. the answer i believe has multiple points.1st, a child. never. under any circumstances. 2nd, out of anger, frustration, to instill fear, or control over another adult. never. that's just plain wrong. period. however, if an adult has my child, the child of someone I love, or the person I love in immediate danger, and i can prevent or stop that by striking another human being, look out below. i could do it without batting an eye. the people i love come before my own personal hatred of violence.

ANYONE who says NO, is absolutely WRONG and did not even think about the question. There is sometimes very good reasons to hit people and other times no reasons. One good reasons is if someone was hurting your child or beating your friends up. Wouldn't you fight to stop them from hurting them? Or would you just be the kind of person who sits and watches as they get beaten up and hurt?

Good question, honestly people shouldn't hit each other, but some people do it for self defense, others do it because there just all bottled up with anger and they need to let some steam out, it just depends on the person. I would hit or hurt someone if they were hurting my closest friends or family.

And some people reprimand children by spanking them.

I don't buy the self defense bit. If you are ready to over power me then yes it applies. Where I Justify force against another person is when that other person is attacking a loved one who can not protect themselves. If someone attacks my Mother, or one of my nieces, they will be quickly subdued, and detained until the law shows up.

No.

Even in self defense, you can defend yourself without hitting the other person but neutralizing them.
