Allen Iverson taking a bunch of nobodies to the 2001 NBA Finals

or

LeBron James taking a bunch of underachievers to the 2007 NBA Finals?

You decide.

Great video Jeremy K. I especially like the comment made by the commentaor that said

"Michael Jordan has the jump shot of a Jerry West but also the ability to go to the hoop like a Julius Erving."

However, you still haven't answered my question regarding A.I. and LeBron.

Allen Iverson's team of 2001. Hey nobody really counted that team to go that deep in the play-offs. James' Cavaliers always have that contender tag on them. AI basically fought off injuries (I remember ESPN doing a graphic of Iverson's injuries from head-to-foot when they faced the tough Laker team of 2001) just to get to the finals.

The only other big named player in AI's team was Dikembe Mutombo. Lebron have Ilgauskas, Gooden, Marshall and Hughes. Big difference in terms of manpower. Only man in both appearances was Eric Snow.

Plus AI was better since they won a game in Lakerlandia (The Lakers boast the powerful primed Shaq the most dominant and strongest force in basketball which powered them through 3 championships). Lebron and crew didn't manage to win at least one game draining their entire season's effort to obscurity all that while having a more competitive crew to back him up.

So yeah, AI is better than James in terms of one-man showmanship.

Hope this helps.

Allen Iverson with the nobodies. Nobodies are definitely worse than underachievers. Nobodies have no talent while underachievers have the talent but don't always implement it. Allen carried the team on his back (a very small one at that) through Kobe and Shaq, IN THEIR PRIME!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lebron hits Duncan, Ginobili, and Parker with Duncan and Ginobili nowhere near their primes or with any good play. Duncan was off, not his normal self and no one even talked about Ginobili. Parker was the only high-caliber player at the time of the Finals, but Lebron still lost. Allen took on Kobe and Shaq at the peak. No contest.

P.S. Allen also showed clutch play, unlike Lebron, with the ball bouncing off his foot in the waning seconds against the Spurs.

No doubt Iverson in 2001! He was the lone star on a team filled with role players, and they gel perfectly. Everybody thought the Lakers were going to sweep them, but instead they came in and stole Game 1 on Lakers' home court. That was the first lost for the Lakers in like 2 series!

Lebron definitely.. He took his team past the Detroit Pistons and scored 25 of the last 30 points for the Cavs in one game, that is SICK! Detroit had NO answer for him and he led a team that wasn't laden with talent and got to the finals in an increasingly difficult conference.

Have to agree with Darth Revan. If you watched this years Final (one of the most boring ever) Lebron was shooting bricks!

AI did something totally unexpected that is pulling out a Finals appearance where nobody counted them in.

AI all the way!

Lebron James was one of those underachievers. The Cavs looked like a CBA team against the Spurs. I get irritated by how much undue credit Lebron gets.
