For a little while, a belt would squeek when starting, but stopped after a second or two, then I discovered gunning it stopped it instantly. Then it began to run rough after the starting sequence, really vibrative/shaky. Now it will not even turn over. All lights are okay, but nothing else happens. Almost as though the battery's dead, but the battery's almost brand new. Please help, and Thank you all in advance, it's much appreciated, if you had an idea or know exactly what i need to fix. thank you again.

Ok Honda Guy, thank you for the courage to give my car another shot. I was able to get it started, by pumping the gas pedal, and my friend had jumper cables connected. It still runs rough, so I took it to a mechanic after I got it running. I will keep you updated as to what they find may be wrong with it. Thanks a million.

The squeek you hear from the belt indicates that the belt is loose. When the drive belt for the alternator is loose then the alternator will charge at a lower rate than optimum. A normal alternator charges at 14.4 volts; if the belt is loose it could charge at 13 volts which would be enough that the warning light didn't come on but would not be enough to keep the car running and recharge the battery. As a result you're new battery will run down as it becomes depleted and is not recharged.

The running rough is usually an indication that the voltage to the ignition coil is not up to par so the spark at the spark plugs is weak. as a result the fuel does not burn completely and causes the rough running and vibration. Again, this is caused by the loose alternator belt not generating enough electricity to run the car and charge the battery.

I would recommend you change the alternator belt and have it adjusted properly when it is changed. If the belt was squeeling then the belt is probably glazed to the point where its slipping constantly.

You should also have the battery recharged at the same time so that you don't do permanent damage to the new battery.

You can confirm that the problem is with the belt and a depleted battery simply by jump starting the car. If you jump start it and it runs then the belt is the problem and the battery needs to be recharged.

hope that helps

if each little thing grew to become into positive the day before,... and now it won't turn over, evidently like the battery is defective. I even have had a undesirable battery before. I went to the mall, grew to become into in there 15min. got here lower back out and my truck slightly began. I even have had a clean battery defective. I even have examined a battery with the device and it examined sturdy. the subsequent morning the motor vehicle does no longer start up.
