The Senate has 100 members, 2 from each state. And serve 6 year terms.

Congress has 435 members, and the number per state is based upon population, and they serve 2 year terms.

This was done as a balance of power between states with differing populations.

OK, time for Civics 101! Congress is comprised of 2 parts:
1. The Senate.
2. The Representatives.
Senators ARE Congressmen; Representatives ARE Congressmen.

There are 2 Senators for EACH STATE;
Congressmen are elected in accordance with the POPULATION of the State. The more people, the more Representatives.
