You should be ok. The baby may not like the taste of the milk but if they get hungry they will eat it and get the milk out and eventually will get back to the milk they like.

I'm nursing a 3 month old and last saturday I had a meal with some spinach in it...I thought the child would never get over her gas issues the next day. But, it did make me remember to be conscious of what I eat.
Nurse the baby and if there is any change in his demeanor the next day then you'll know not to eat that again. It's all a learning experience and no one is perfect!! Good luck!

Shrimp is allowed... just not more than 12 oz per week... so that part is fine. The curry is harmless.. small chance that it could alter the taste of the milk a little, but I doubt it will have any effect.

You can eat pretty much everything - spicy, chocolate, fish, etc.. just pay attention closely to what your child has a reaction to. My son didnt mind AT all if I ate anything but if I had spaghetti he would cry for hours. Just keep a close eye on his reactions and what you are eating. GOOD LUCK! (allergies to the foods wont affect the baby - your milk filters it way too much!!)

I'm willing to bet that your son takes MORE milk. Don't forget, he tasted your food all through pregnancy and he likes the things you eat. Don't worry about specific foods until there is a problem. Formula companies are brilliant and sneaky marketers. They made up the myth about avoiding garlic, spicy food and gassy food.

Not at all......what do you think babies eat in India? It is often said that babies acquire tastes for different types of diet after being breast fed (spicy, ethnic, etc) Only avoid foods if you find they irritate the little one.....frequently mom's food can cause gasiness (beans, brocolli, etc) And unfortunately the only way to know is through trial and error.

No need to wait on breastfeeding. All the stuff you hear about foods to avoid while breastfeeding is simply old wives tales. You only need to avoid something if baby has a specific, noticeable reaction to your eating it. I eat spicy foods, garlicky foods, "gassy" foods, and nurse my son without reserve!

I have not had any issues w/ Noah breastfeeding and I eat all types of food. I've had "medium" curry several times and it did not bother my son.

You won't be doing anything harmful, if that's what you're asking, but every baby's reaction to new foods (even if you're the one who's eating them) is different.
I ate spicy or garlicky or highly-spiced stuff all the time, and it never bothered my kids (they each nursed past their first birthday).
But I know other people who've had problems.
So you've just got to try and see what happens.
