Since there are two numbers with the same variable, you can add those together.

4a + a = 5a

You end up with 5a + 2b.

Here we go:

4a+2b+a
First, you group like terms
Use the communitive property (i think) to rearrange the problem. Since they both 4a and a have common variables you put it like this
4a+a+2b
4a+a+2b is the same as 4a+1a+2b, which is 5a+2b.
5a+2b is your answer.

Good luck

4a+a=5a
5a+2b
If you divide by 2 it's 2.5A+B or you can divide per 5 (A+2/5B) but no more than that...
