I was on primolut 5mg for 3 weeks that the doctor prescribed as my period would not stop. I stopped taking the primulot 8 days ago and still haven't got a period. The doctor told me it should start within 2 to 3 days, but 8 days later I'm still waiting (not like I'm in a hurry for it to happen but it's got me worrying!) I did a pregnancy test this morning to see if that was why but it was negative.

Can someone explain what is going on please??

You need to call your doctor and notify him. Your period should have come within 3 days after taking the last pill. Since it did not come, your doctor will probably want to run some tests (including a blood pregnancy test which is far more sensitive than a home pregnancy test) before planning what to do next.

Should all tests come back normal and your pregnancy test come back negative, your doctor may opt for another course of primolut or try a different medication. Please call your doctor.
