So, after trying EVERY bottle on the shelf I came upon the Playtex drop ins. They dont give my baby the air of the others and thats a problem being he cant burp himself. My question is,, will I be able to use the others later when he becomes moble and/or holds his own bottle? OR do I have a bag of waisted bottles/MONEY?????

Both my babies used powder formula so I used the extra bottles for water bottles. I had powder formula in one and water to pour in the other bottle so I wouldn't have to make there bottles before time. I made them up fresh for them when i needed it any place I went.

Maybe if you burped the baby it wouldn't matter as much what bottle you were using. I have probably 6 or 7 different bottle types including dropins, playtex advents, gerber, dollar store bottles, novelty baby bottles etc... All my boy cares about is that the nipple works. I like the time it takes to burp him as it gives me time to talk to him and interact. In fact when I use the Advent bottles that cause very little air to enter into his system he still stops halfway through wanting to be burped because he is used to the routine!

Every child is different. My son could only use a particular type of bottle until he was about 8 months old, and then any old bottle would do. I would hold on to them, because they'll probably be of good use later on. Good luck!

Yes, why not? I use those type too, they are wonderful!
I read wrong I thought you meant if you can still use the drop ins. With the others, you can try it and see. You could also try giving them to a local womens center too.

Probably a bag of wasted bottles/money. Once my kids found one they liked they only liked it. But my kids are big creatures of habit and always have been.

My son is 8 months and all he's ever used is the drop ins... i'd just stick with them if i were you.

It does get easier as they get older and their digestive system grows and strengthens, and they can move themselves around more.

Give him some time, later on you can probably try introducing something else, but for now stick with what works for him. Hang in there :-)

any bottle will do - you realize that you have to burp the kid, right? - jiggle them and put them on thier belly.
