I in no way posted opinion. I asked a question and posted a news link. If that's opinion to you, then I understand why our country is such a mess.

It's funny to watch how you have to hardly say anything, and Republicans come out with the venom when there's even a hint of them being troop haters. LOL

Everyone in this country would rather have the troops return safely, I don't see why that's in question. The only difference is when. Sure, Democrats are more focused on bringing them back earlier (for opinions similar to mine), but Republicans have safety in mind for all the people of America by having them stay over there longer (though I don't agree that such is the case).

In no way can you honestly sit there and say that "DC Republicans" have little respect for the lives of our troops. You are basically classifying every Republican. I'm sure that's hardly a true statement. Anyone else that posts questions like this one I say this to.... Stop trying to push your personal opinion on us or what you gathered from a video clip...or some other site. We get it..you are trying to make Republicans look bad..or the war effort look bad.. That's great if you feel that way. Good for you!.. But don't push your opinion on us.

"The measure to give troops as much rest time at home as they spent on their most recent tour overseas needed 60 votes to pass in the Democratic-controlled Senate; it received just 56 votes, with 44 against."
Sorry but the the Republicans are the minority, the Dems won this vote as per the quote above from your link.

So tell us, why do the Democrats have so little respect for the lives of our troops?

They do respect the lives of US troops because they honestly believe that they are fighting & dying for a good cause & also a US withdraw would make Republicans look really bad & would make the Dems look really good & they won't let that happen.

For all of you who sit there and say that the Republican Party cares about our troops you are full of it. If they really cared about the troops they wouldn't have sent them to Iraq in the first place. The reason they don't care or value the troops lives is because they care and value money more. That's all they want. They don't care that they are sending American's to die. Over 4,000 troops have died....I ask you this is the money worth it....Well to them it is, or they wouldn't have sent them. They wouldn't still be sending them. ~Remember those who have fought for YOU...Honor those who are fighting for YOU...Never forget those who have died for YOU...~

because it says right in the first paragraph "defeating a proposal widely seen as the Democrats' best near-term chance to change President George W. Bush's Iraq strategy."

You're an uninformed young lady. We in the military swear to defend national interests with our lives. The current conflict is of national interest, for WMD's, oil, an evil leader..... whatever. We go!

We take that oath seriously, without question, prejudice or doubt.
That's the military. I do not expect you to understand.

They're like the warring parents who use their children as pawns, hurling out insults and accusations they know are not true.

Because most likely that is just what the Democrats and their running dogs in the Media want you to believe.
