Iraq was, and always will be a lame country that the US should not have lied on to entice a useless invasion.

The same people that were absolutely wrong about the invasion, are absolutely wrong about leaving. Your thoughts...

Steve (below) We who? Who appointed you as the official YA spokesman? Speak for yourself and allow others to do the same. As for what this post is about, if you don't like it, leave it.

v dig (below) Fantasize much? If Iraq is able to bog down the US military, Iran will make matters 100 times worse following an attack on them. Step away from the machismo and think versus flex. Brains in war always win. Spraying lead everywhere is an exercise in futility.

Prove to me that these dooms day predictions are wrong (before the fact), and I'll change my stance. If you can't, I won't.

This goes both ways and there's no way of determining who is right or wrong, until the time comes. And while we're at it, do you really believe that any of the leading politicians who are running for the Presidency on both sides, have any true intentions of pulling us out of Iraq? I sure don't.

I am. The fact is that if US troops left Iraq the Iraqi Shiites/Kurds would wipe out the Sunni insurgents/terrorists in Iraq in a matter of months & thus would win the war on terror in Iraq & Bush would never allow that to happen because he is allied with so many Sunni nations like Saudi Arabia who doesn't want to see the Iraq Shittes take over control of Iraq.

man... count me in....

I don't know how is that staying there any longer will help us fight terrorism???whether we leave now or 5 years from now there will always be terrorism from that side of the world.... whether it's in Iraq or Iran, Saudi, or whatever country in the Middle East.....

People need to wake up, how many more bodies are going to be sacrificed for a CAUSE that our incompetent President and his Administration started????

I'm sick and tired of hearing this stupid prediction about there will be another 9/11 if we leave.... What we need to start worrying about are our IMMIGRATION LAWS, we need to stop giving VISAS to anybody now.... we need to clean house, because there are so many illegals that have expired their VISA and are just lollygagging around here.... We need to make IMPORTANT DECISIONS about our borders...LAND AND SEA so we should ALL raise our level of SECURITY, not just the government but EVERYDAY FOLKS....

if we see or know something, hey it wouldn't hurt to report it, I'd rather choose a false alarm rather than another 9/11.....

You could be wrong. no, Iraq was not the best target if we were really focused on terrorism. However, it is not a bad target. Al-Qaeda may be at a good strength, but we have them scrambling. The worst thing Osama can do to us is dye his beard and make a video tape. Should we pull out? I dont think so. Should we stay the course? Uh...no. Think outside of the box. Have a new strategy. Stop waging war as if it was merely a political issue. This is real, and we need to really wage war. Bush was more focused on rebuilding that he forgot to wipe out most of the enemy. Mission unaccomplished. We should not let the biased media dictate our actions in war. They are clueless. Fight a war like it is a war and stop playing around.

I think leaving is our best choice now. But that doesn't mean it's a good one.

Think of the genocide in Yugoslavia or Darfur. Something similar will happen there, but it will be directly attributable to American actions. And the rest of the world will know it and they won't forget it easily.
The trouble caused by this administration will haunt the next three of four administrations likely enough.

I don't believe its so much dooms day for us, as it is for the Iraqi people. Hmmmm it would basically become a satellite state of Iran, just another country hostile to us in a sea of already theocratic hostile countries. Very ugly thought.

I find it ironic that the GOP said the same thing about Vietnam once.

That: "If we leave, Communism will spread throughout Asia and the Viet Cong will come and invade the West Coast."

I'm sick and tired of hearing that "If we don't fight them over there, we'll have to fight them here." This administration has let millions of illegal aliens cross our borders without a clue as to how many of them might be terrorists just waiting for the word to attack here. We need our troops here at home, now!
