Does anyone know why truck builders Kenworth, Mack, and Peterbilt haven't built pick-up trucks?

They don't have the production line faculties. All their production lines are geared to large trucks.
Also the per unit compared to the larger trucks.
It would take too long to develop a market for them.
No deallers are set up to service and repair small vechiles.

Simply because they aren't set up for it in any way. Mechanically and probably more importantly the safety standards for a truck are alot different for a car (ute/pickup) it would require entirely different design and engineering. Also the markets are pretty far apart it wouldn't be economically viable to split their production into two ventures.

International builds the largest pickup called the ICX

Really there are a lot of reasons "why"
not set up for it.
No dealerships geared towards selling light duty rigs.
Too competitive.
International Harvester used to make pickups and suvs.

Pick up trucks are way too different from commercial tractors. It would require a whole new assembly plant.

I pick-up truck is a car....those manufacturers build trucks, not cars. It is a whole different market.

Freightliner builds pickups... They're called Dodge.

(or, is it Dodge that builds Freightliners?)
