Blown a lot of smoke!!

I remember one of Pelosi's first statements was that they were going to "get things done". Then they wasted weeks on the wording of a nonbinding resolution on the Iraq War. It was classic politics- make promises, grandstand for the people, forget the promises you made.

Minimum wage has gone up, we did more in our 1st 100 days than the Re pubs did in 12 years.

As far as bills, we pass them Bush vetoes them and as the Republicans are 2 seats shy from being the Majority in the Senate, they stop the Democrats from overturning a Veto, so it is you who hold up things!

We are getting Habeas Corpus put back into the constitution, have been the impetus for most white house liars to quit or be charged and convicted. We got anti constitution Rodriguez to resign, and we are going to nail you on election day where you won't have ANY wiggle room and no president! And we just learned yesterday from the spy chief that 9/11 could have and should have been prevented!

What have you done besides put us 4 TRILLION in additional debt, have an economy going down the tubes, start a war over oil with a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 or Iraq, getting 4,089 troops brought home in body bags. You got 6 killed yesterday and 1 today so far!

Bush got rid of Rumsfeld just because they took over the majority in the house and senate. They passed the minimum wage hike. They passed the bill to finish the 911 commission recommendations. Their oversight has led to the resignation of Gonzalez. They really aren't a very agressive bunch and don't even appear to stick together much. They don't have enough of a majority to over ride a veto and they don't seem to have the talent to word bills to make them agreeable to Republicans. Maybe they'll learn that art eventually. Meanwhile, the link lists their accomplishments thus far.

well... they've tried to change quite a bit... the vast majority have voted just as they said they would on every issue...

but, the Reps hold the veto power and have exercised it "liberally" and the Dems aren't even close to having he votes to override it...

checks and balances have basically limited the Dems ability to pass any real legislation...

Despite a partisan recalcitrant Republican minority and president, quite a lot actually.

Vdig - if there ratings are so far down - and that is all the Dems fault - what does it tell you that the American people would still rather have the Dems run congress than republicans?

The fact that this question had been posted for 5 minutes, yet had no answers, is extremely ironic.

One big thing they did was raise the minimum wage.

Nothing but raise their numbers there as if that did any good or made any positive changes.
