Where is Hammerville Pennsylvania?

My fathers place of birth on my birth certificate reads "Hammerville" PA. I cannot find it on a map. I have read references to others being born there and heard of Exit 48 of the PA Turnpike, north of Pittsburgh, referred to as the Hammerville Exit. Could it have been a small township that was absorbed into another town?

Harmerville is at exit 48 of the PA turnpike. Is it possible this is just a typo on the birth certificate?
