Physical geography focuses on understanding the processes and patterns in the natural environment, as opposed to the built environment which is the domain of Human geography.

Hydrology- study of the earth's water.
Glaciology - study of glaciers
Biogeography- study of animal and plant distribution
Climatology- climate
Pedology- soil
Coastal geography- coast lines
Oceanography- oceans
