The number of the Beast is actually 627....666 came about as the early Gospels were re-copied and mis-read by the copiest so if you want the wrong beast constantly turning up..go ahead.

There has been disagreements for over 50 years now to the correct translation for the number of the beast. Generally it is considered now, by scholars, to be 616.
The beast it refers to is the Emperor Nero and the Roman Empire, in reference to the passage in Ezekiel.
Personally, the real reason it still gives me the shudders to see any no. tattooed on a person, is because I am old enough to have known people who had this indignity from the concentration camps.
Have what you like tattooed on the back of your head, but remember you have an awful lot of nerves there and it could be quite sensitive.

Look never mind what you are told just remember this it's just a number, a number that people make a lot of silly fuss about, like 13. If you want 666 on the back of your head go for it but remember you are the one who will have to live with it

You can do what you want. But 666 doesn't mean what most people think.
The number '666' refers to nothing more or less than MONEY!
Revelation 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
Look carefully at the actual text and you will note that John did not write “666 (“six hundred threescore and six”) is the mark of the beast, nor did he say “666” is the number of the beast. He specifically and purposefully wrote that the number “666 corresponded to” the “number of the beast which is the number of a man, and his number is six hundred threescore and six.” Neither did John say: “..is the number of man (as in ‘mankind’),” but he specifically wrote: “…is the number of a man,” meaning a particular man.
That particular man to whom John was pointing those “who hath understanding,” is Solomon. “His number” corresponds to “money” as in the amount of “gold” he received in a one-year period:
“Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold.” (I Kings 10:14)

With the tatoo, you may attract some attention, and if you do, you can tell people what 666 REALLY means!!

Wise you say...?
Well, if you either live in a rigorously religious community, you are a member of the clergy or regularly sing in your local Church choir or such, then I would say no, it probably wouldn't be a very wise move.
However, if you are part of some kind of Satan worshipping sect, you happen to be some kind of death metal rock star trying to look cool, or if you simply don't care about causing offence to the religiously inclined or something similar, then go for it, the choice in the end is entirely yours.
Just so long as, with all decisions we make in life, you are willing to accept and live with any consequences which may arise.

Why would you want to? What does it mean to you? 6+6+6=18, 1+8=9 nine is for completion, integrity and wisdom, alignment with higher principles, leads by example.

Just for a lark? If you just want to see the reaction (and you have your head shaved anyway) try a henna tattoo that will eventually disappear. It's a lot less permanent - and painful - that way.
