I am a male and I have a male singing coach at a place. He sometimes puts his hand on my abdomin/stomach area. Is it normal for singing coaches to do this?

While you are singing or doing breathing exercises? Sure. They're making sure you're singing from your diaphragm or making you more aware of the way you're supporting yourself. If it makes you uncomfortable, though, you have every right to ask him not to do it anymore. I'm pretty sure his intentions are completely innocent, though. :)

I have seen other singing coach's do this to help with the breathing and air control, but if he does not explain to you why he is doing this and if it is making you uncomfortable (which im assuming it is since you are asking this question) I would tell him that you dont want him doing that!

Well sometimes it helps your diaphragm to move and breathe by doing that. But if it's not, like, doing that then it's weird.

He's seeing if you are using your abdomen . Don't breathe through your nose while singing.

no it is not! how much do you know about this guy? how long have you been with him? if you and him have known each other for a while, i think it is ok because he is just doing it to teach you. but if you guys first met, i would definetely talk to him
