I am 22years old and currently attending north shore community college ...i have my GED, after i receive my associates degree i want to attend northeastern university and attend medical school to become a doctor. do you think that i won't be able to do this because i have my GED or does it not matter?????? PLEASE HELP ME??????? as long as i have a good GPA i should be fine right?????

Once you get your associates' degree, if you are able to transfer to Northeastern and get your bachelor's degree, no one will look at what you did not do in high school any more. You will already have proven yourself as a college graduate, equivalent to any other college graduate. Obviously, there is no guarantee that you or anyone else who wants to will get into medical school, but that has everything to do with how you do in college, and nothing to do with how you did in high school.

GED shouldn't matter here. But you better be getting all A's at a community college, and almost all A's at Northeastern in an appropriate pre-med major, in order to be considered for medical school in this country. This is besides getting a 95% percentile or better score on the standardized test. Besides references, you'll need to explain why GED/community college, as you'll be competing with a lot of folks who went 4 years at competitive colleges.

I don't think that having a GED will stop you if you commit to working hard. If you really want it, go for it. Keep your chin and your GPA up, and please accept my best wishes.
