This is simple calculation.

Total price was $9.38 and grip was $7.49.
Take a way $7.49 from $9.38.
The tennis balls are $1.89
Divide the $1.89 with 3.

x = (9.38 - 7.49) / 3
x = 1.89 / 3
x = 0.63

Let x be the price of one tennis ball. (the unknown)
Therefore: 3x + 7.49 = 9.38
So: 3x = 9.38 - 7.49
Or: 3x = 1.89
So: x = 1.89/3
One tennis ball is 0.63
