Because the heart is located at the center of our body/being. It is around our center where we usually pivot around.

Notice that when someone contemplates, his body is positioned so that his head, where his brain is, is pulled towards or is closer to where his heart is. And when we are holding something that means so much to us, we place it close to our heart.

Our center is our stronghold. It is where our energy is much concentrated. We derive our stand from where we feel secure or powerful.

We associate heart with love, because it is what we really are - we are beings of love. We are made of love, and in our core is where love is most concentrated.

We are most powerful when we are being our natural self. We are most powerful when we choose to love.

Well, for one, your heart starts to beat faster. Two, you get tha funny feeling. The warm, fuzzy one. Not butterflies. Three, because of the marketing that ruined St. Valentines day.

because it's called heart...and hearts are associated with love and valentines day?
and yeah...when you're inlove or when you're heartbroken...you literally feel it in your heart...the pain...sometimes it feels like your heart just traveled up and got stuck in your throat or somethin...and sometimes when you see the object of your affection...feels like your heart will leap out!

Obviously you've never been in love. Anybody who is in love gets it instantly. I'll give you a hint, its not your brain that beats faster when you see the person you love and its not the brain that hurts when you walk away even if its the right decision.

Mostly to do with how it was considered the organ our thoughts came from and soul was in and such, and how it beats faster with 'crushes' and lust, which everyone mistakes for love.

b/c when you have loved and lost you'll literaly feel pain in your heart. Nothing to go see the doctor about, there is nothing they can do...it's hard to explain.
